While you're here, just rest a while.

South of the cottages, a few miles off of the main road, there's a pretty white farm house with acres of golden and green field behind it. A colorful garden clings to the edges of the house. To the side of the house, there's a red barn, with two chicken coops, a stable, and a few other small sheds scattered across the property. A few strange crystalline structures loom ominously in the field farthest away from the farmhouse's back steps. In the very middle of the centermost field, every inch covered in bright, colorful wildflowers, a large, proud tree stands. It's branches shift in the breeze. You're likely to see someone sleeping beneath it.

Farmhouse

The farmhouse is generally off limits for anyone other than the residents and explicitly invited guests. Thermopolium employees may come and go during working hours, but are asked to stay in the kitchen and living area. Largely, work for the business is now done outside of the property.

The house boasts a large kitchen and living space, as well as bedrooms and bathrooms on the top floor, ground floor, and in the basement. There is a library on the first floor, arranged by Historia and Eren (some of the books are stolen from the library). Various guests and residents have taken up rooms as their own, with a couple of extra guest rooms to spare. Downstairs, there's a dark room for developing photos. Evidence of Eren's hobby litters the surrounding space.

Upstairs, everywhere one looks, paintings and photographs are rapidly beginning to accumulate on the walls. The house is cleaned every day, kept more or less spotless - guests and residents are expected to keep it that way.

Barn & Stables

Horizons' animal population always seems to be growing. Enter the barn to find it full of friendly barn cats, though you may end up getting mowed down by the goat. In the stables, there are three horses and a land dragon. There are two chicken coops, and you're always just as likely to run into a group of baby chicks as you are a flock of full-grown chickens. There are even rabbits hopping around, and a dog that seems to prefer only a small handful of people.

Garden & Pond

Colorful foliage clings to the side of the house, eventually wrapping around to the left and unfolding into a proper garden. It is about the size of a standard back yard, and has a pond in the center - there are even a few fish inside! If you can figure out what they eat, you can feel free to feed them, but don't fish them out, okay? And don't climb in...

Training Grounds

The training grounds are free for all farm guests to use. Eren isn't stingy about his weapons either. Most are informed that blades, arrows, and even a gun or two can be found in the barn. Guests are asked to return weapons once they're done practicing, or to at least ask before keeping them for themselves.

The ground has been flattened, evened out for a proper sparring area, complete with a few target dummies. There are a few items left there for the purpose of exercise as well - you just might be lifting haybales instead of dumbbells. Eren is found there often. He'll teach you his routine if you ask.

There is also a massive obstacle course, built for both ODM training, and competition on foot. Giant wooden titans loom over every bend, the challenges increasing in difficult as one moves through the course.

Tree & Fields

It's a perfect tree for napping under. The leaves dapple the ground beneath it with a lovely marriage between light and shadow. The wildflowers beneath paint the scene. The rainbow brightens pastel, darkens into jewel tones as the clouds drift past the sun. Breezes makes the leaves above your head rustle and shift in a soothing song. You're feeling sleepier. You could rest here forever...

A brown and white horse that belongs to Eren Jaeger. Elke is larger and more muscular than your typical mare. She is a specially bred Survey Corps horse. This means she is exceptionally patient and not easily spooked. She has a subdued but amicable personality. Also, she's a very good girl. You should feed her a carrot. (artist's rendering)

She and Buchwald can sometimes be found sharing their carrots or touching noses.
