[Aubrey squeezes them back, both of them. She’s so… overwhelmed, and flooded in the best way, that she almost doesn’t notice Eren’s not the only one who’s kissed her; but it doesn’t matter, because she kisses him on the cheek right back, and Armin, too. Why not. She can’t remember th—

[…She can’t remember the last time she felt this loved, and let herself return it, so openly and wholly. There.]

I’m so happy to see you, too, Armin… both of you.

You guys finally found it.

[At Aubrey's words, Armin lets out something between a laugh and a sob - the same sound he's been making since he first saw Eren, held him in his arms. He doesn't even think to apologize for their affections. It had to be done; it's perfect.

[This is perfect.

[When Eren died, he made it so that Armin and the rest of his friends could live long, happy lives without him.

[Armin doesn't want that. He wants to be here with Eren, and Aubrey, and Mikasa too. That's all he wants - to never go home again. Because home will never be home without Eren Jaeger, the man he loves.]

It's perfect. [He pulls them both in closer again.] It's all I want. It's perfect.

[Eren's final act was meant to be selfless. He should still want what he intended for Armin; maybe he does, or maybe he will, once this high has passed. Right now, he feels as selfish as ever.

[It is perfect, and he never wants to be without Armin again, or Aubrey. The three of them here like this, wrapped up in each other - it's the most amazing thing he's ever felt.

[If it’s selfish to never want to go back, to want to stay in the embrace of people who mean so much… then maybe being selfish isn’t so bad, sometimes.

[Surely Armin has people who love him back home, too. He reminded Aubrey that there was hope for their world in the first place, after all. But in this moment, she gets it; there may be hope, and there may be other friends, but there’s not Eren. And without him, it’s not enough.

[This? This feels like it can be enough. This feels close to perfection.]

[Aubrey’s not exactly jumping to be the one who says otherwise.]

["Love" has always been a strong word, but not one that Armin thinks should be used sparingly. It wasn't traded back home as often as it should have been - God, it should have been. Because it was always there, and it always mattered more than anything. There are plenty of people that he wishes he'd said it more too, or at all.]

[He can speak for Eren here, because he knows the other man agrees. He's seen their wedding ceremony. Eren might love Aubrey more than anyone.]

[For his answer, Eren kisses the top of Aubrey's head again, eyes falling closed for a moment in familiar reverence. He doesn't know what Armin has seen, but he wouldn't be angry to know he'd seen it. After all, didn't he say that he wished he could have shown her off?

[He hopes she's happy, even if only for this moment.

[To Armin:]

We got married, you know. [With a sloppy half-smile; happy, even if only for this moment.]

[At this, a sheepish smile.]

I think I was made an unintentional witness. Sorry about that...

[The days when Aubrey would be reserved with her love—saying it, showing it—are pretty well gone, it feels. That the word can still mean so much, after all she and Eren have put it through… not a small thing.

[She hates to move at all away from either of them, basking in this, but finds herself leaning towards Eren at his kiss. And, well, they did get married. And…]

…Oh. [Aubrey laughs a little, also sheepish. But happy.] It’s— Well, Eren wanted you to be there, [looking up at him, teasing;] didn’t you?

[At this, Eren's cheeks go a little pink. He averts eye contact for a minute, shrugging.]

It's normal to have guests...

[It's a charming look. Armin's smile is warm and genuine.]

I would have liked to be there properly. Maybe a celebration is in order.

[They’re both charming, like this. It’s just enough to not dwell on the fact that, actually, Aubrey’s not thrilled by the idea that memories aren’t the only thing this world shares. But if anyone was going to see, it really should be Armin—and besides, if he wants to celebrate, maybe he didn’t see the rest.]

This world isn’t the most… reliable, at getting people together… [That. That was the rest.]

But we’re here now. [Aubrey glances at the water, clear and shining, as her smile turns, just a bit, into a smirk. They had a lot of fun, back in the rain.] We can celebrate now.

[Armin notes the smirk, and turns to raise an eyebrow at Eren.]

I think this might mean that Aubrey wants to go for a swim.

[Three smirks. Eren turns to Aubrey, raising his hands and narrowing his eyes. Unless there's a significant level of resistance, he will soon be tackling her into the water.]

—Wait, wait, I didn’t say—!

[But she absolutely does not resist the splashdown.]

[Sputtering, laughing, Aubrey tries to tug Armin in first chance she gets.]

[Armin doesn't resist all that much, happy to be tugged down into the water with his best friend and ~~their~~ his best friend's wife. The struggle is all for show - and for splashing, which he flails around to accomplish, effectively soaking both Eren and Aubrey.]

[As if they weren't soaked already. Eren hurriedly splashes Armin back, releasing Aubrey long enough to grab his head and dunk him under the water. Then, it's Aubrey's turn - more of the same. When she surfaces again, he bear hugs her until the water is up to her neck again, gripping tight so she has no hope of escape.]

Say uncle.

[There’s just a split second when that blonde boy bobs beneath the waves—but then Aubrey’s under, and it’s all in good fun. Yeah?]

Pfbt. [Useless struggle, but she flails and splashes back anyway.] You wish. [>:P]

[He nips at her mouth when her tongue comes out.]

[He dunks her again.]

[A shocking twist of events! Here comes Armin from the blue corner! He tackles Eren from behind, hooking his arms under the other's and thrusting them both backward into the water. Aubrey is freed!]

[Aubrey’s about to bite back when Armin flings ’im.]

Hey! I wasn’t done yet! [Thanks for your valiant efforts, Armin! Aubrey dives in to drag them both up by the scruff.]

[Eren, as he's grabbed, breaching out of the water like a mermaid:]

He's the enemy, Aubrey.

I was rescuing you!

[Glaring, for approximately two seconds:]
Well. Now I don’t know who to trust.

[And immediately descending into a giggle fit. You get a splash in the face, and you get a splash in the face—!]
